How we pick
Three options per decision, chosen the same way every time, each with its weak spot stated in the open.
What we compare
- Current pricing, including what is quoted separately: deposits, transfers, materials, service charges.
- Location, and the travel time it implies at the hour you would go.
- English-language service: whether someone competent answers, not whether the website is translated.
- Reputation over time, weighted towards recent and specific accounts rather than volume of stars.
- What is included, in writing, before payment.
- Whom each option suits, which is rarely everybody.
Why three
Three is enough to show a real trade-off: the safe choice, the value choice, and the one that is better for a particular case. It is also few enough to check properly.
The labels change by category, because the useful split changes. For dentists it is implants. For yachts it is group size. For property it is entry price against beachfront.
The downside is part of the pick
Every pick carries one honest drawback, and where it helps, a line on who should skip it. Without a real drawback the page does not go up.
Money
Rankings are editorial. If a sponsored placement is ever introduced it will be marked as sponsored, and it will not change the order of the editorial picks or their wording.
Some outbound links may become affiliate links in the future. Where that happens it will be stated on the page.
What we do not do
- No invented prices. If a price has not been checked, it is left out rather than estimated.
- No star scores, no aggregate ratings, no review counts collected from elsewhere and presented as ours.
- No reviews presented as first-hand when they are not.
- No page published to fill a gap. An empty category stays empty until it is researched.
Updates
Every guide carries the day its facts were last read against their sources, and links to those sources. Prices in Vietnam move and businesses close.
